Place Called Home – Die Geschichte hinter dem Bild (nochmals mit einigen fotografischen Anmerkungen – Danke, Kai.):
Ein Heimatgefühl verbindet mich inzwischen auch mit der nordfriesischen Insel Föhr. Ich nenne sie oft „die langweiligste Insel Deutschlands“ und meine das durchaus als Kompliment. Nirgendwo kann man so gut entspannen und den Stress des Alltags abwerfen. Wir tun das inzwischen mehrmals im Jahr für einige Tage. Das Foto zeigt einen Strandabschnitt im Südwesten der Insel bei Ebbe. Die Sonne stand so hoch im Norden im Juni auch um 22.30 Uhr noch am Himmel, so dass ich dieses Gegenlichtfoto mit einer sehr weit geschlossenen Blende schießen musste. Die Wärme des späten Abendlichtes kommt dadurch perfekt rüber.

Place Called Home – The Story behind the pic:
A sense of home connects me now with the North Frisian island of Foehr. I call them often “ the most boring island of Germany “ and it’s meant quite as a compliment. Nowhere you can so relax so well and throw off the stress of everyday life. We do that now several times a year for a few days. The photo shows a stretch of beach in the southwest of the island at low tide. In June the sun was so high in the north and at 22.30 clock still in the sky. So I had to shoot this backlit photograph with a very far closed aperture. The warmth of the late evening light comes over perfectly characterized.
